BIO:
Karol Lindholm, a filmmaker whose soul drifts between Baltic shores, was born in 1990 in the Polish city of Koszalin, just a stone’s throw from the sea. His journey has been a voyage across modern Europe, living in Germany, Poland, and Denmark, with roots in Sweden, always accompanied by the whisper of the sea.
At the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at Silesia University, he earned a Master of Art in Cinematography and Photography, honing a vision both intuitive and profound. He also graduated in Screenwriting and Directing from the Wajda School and Studio through the Ekran+ program. His academic path led him to the hallowed halls of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, where his study of philosophy deepened the nuance of his cinematic voice. His projects have been featured in the Camerimage Talent Demo Program and Berlinale Talents.
Now based in Berlin, Lindholm works across various fields, including documentaries, fiction, and, more recently, commercials, breathing life into stories on screen. His short films, vibrant and raw, have traveled far, earning screenings at international film festivals and art galleries, leaving a trail of wonder and reflection wherever they appear.
Lindholm is also associated with one of the biggest independent film festivals in the USA. He has been part of the programming team for the short documentary competition at the Slamdance Film Festival since 2021.
