HAMAMATSU PHOTONICS | SHORT COMMERCIAL DOCUMENTARY | 2025
Director's Cut of a cinematic commercial documentary created for Hamamatsu Photonics (formerly NKT Photonics).
The film traces the path of light from its raw origins in sand and glass to advanced laser systems that shape modern science. Shot across company industrial sites, world-leading research laboratories, and natural landscapes where the technology is actively used, it explores how photonics transforms the way we see and understand the world.
As a director, I wanted to portray not only the company’s technological achievements but also the people behind them. By blending real industrial spaces, portraits of employees, and moments of cinematic fiction, the film creates a visual dialogue between humanity and technology.
Hamamatsu develops photonics technologies used in medicine, semiconductor manufacturing, industrial quality control, space exploration, and quantum research.
